Based in Fort Worth and gathering across North Texas, Roots to Leadership offers free, practitioner-centered professional development for people working throughout the nonprofit sector. Our programming is grounded in the realities of the work—from funding and team culture to volunteer engagement, career growth, leadership practice, and the systems that shape mission-driven organizations.
Each program is a different door into the same work: helping nonprofit professionals learn from one another, strengthen their practice, and build the relationships that steady a career.
Free monthly gatherings where nonprofit professionals come together around a topic shaping the sector. Hosted with partner organizations across North Texas, each meeting blends practical learning, practitioner voices, and conversation you can carry back to your work.
Explore Community MeetingsSmaller, discussion-based gatherings built for depth. Connection Circles give practitioners room to bring a real question, situation, or tension to the table and learn alongside peers who understand the work from the inside.
Explore Connection CirclesWe partner with nonprofits, funders, companies, and community organizations that believe the sector is stronger when the people inside it are supported. Partnerships can include hosting, co-facilitation, sponsorship, cross-promotion, and shared programming.
Partner With UsRoots to Leadership will pause Community Meetings and Connection Circles from September through December while the 2027 program and resource model is developed.
Roots will remain active throughout the pause. The Nonprofit Newsletter will continue, and live gatherings will return in 2027 with a stronger structure around the conversations that made the first year valuable.
