Roots to Leadership exists to strengthen the nonprofit sector by cultivating the people who serve it. Through community, peer learning, and practitioner-grounded development, we help nonprofit professionals grow with intention, lead with confidence, and contribute more effectively to their organizations and communities.
Leadership is cultivated, not bestowed.
Leadership does not arrive fully formed. It develops through experience, reflection, practice, and the people you learn alongside. Roots to Leadership creates the infrastructure for that growth: rooms where practitioners can ask better questions, understand the sector more clearly, build trusted peer relationships, and carry practical learning back into their organizations.

Aubrey Guzman founded Roots to Leadership to build the kind of professional community she believes the nonprofit sector needs: practitioner-centered, useful, generous, and built for sustained growth.
Her work across the sector has given her a close view of how organizations operate, how people develop into leadership, and how much mission-driven work depends on professionals who are often asked to learn as they go.
She leads Roots to Leadership as a practitioner first, designing programming around the real questions, pressures, and opportunities nonprofit professionals bring into the room.

Roots to Leadership does not operate from a single classroom. Community Meetings are hosted with nonprofit and community partners across the region, bringing practitioners into different organizations, different perspectives, and new relationships throughout North Texas.
